CHAPTER 3 – Friends Again

The drive back to the city is quiet at first, the silence broken only by Sarah's occasional sniffles. Her eyes are red and puffy from crying, and she stares blankly out the window as the countryside rolls by. Lisa and I exchange concerned glances.

After about an hour, I clear my throat. "Sarah," I begin hesitantly, "Lisa and I want you to know that we forgive you."

Sarah's head snaps up, her eyes wide with disbelief. "You... you forgive me? After everything I did to you?"

Lisa turns in her seat to face Sarah. "What you did was awful, yes. But what we did in return..." She trails off, shaking her head. "We took things too far. Way too far."

"We were so caught up in our desire for revenge that we lost sight of our own humanity," I add, my voice thick with emotion. "We became the very thing we hated - cruel, vindictive bullies."

Sarah's lower lip trembles as fresh tears spill down her cheeks. "I deserved it," she whispers. "I was horrible to you both. I let my ambition and jealousy turn me into a monster."

I pull the car over to the side of the road and turn to face Sarah fully. "No one deserves what we put you through today," I say firmly. "It was degrading and abusive, and we're truly sorry."

Reaching into my purse, I pull out the flash drive containing the incriminating evidence against Sarah. Without hesitation, I snap it in half and toss the pieces out the window.

Sarah gasps. "But... but that was your leverage. Your protection against me."

Lisa smiles gently. "We don't need it anymore. We trust that you've learned from this experience, just as we have."

A moment of silence passes as Sarah processes this.

Then, to our surprise, a small smile tugs at the corners of her mouth. "You know," she says softly, "as horrifying and humiliating as today was... part of me kind of enjoyed it."

Lisa and I exchange shocked glances. "Really?" I ask incredulously.

Sarah nods, her cheeks flushing. "I've always had... certain fantasies. About being dominated, being humiliated. I never had the courage to explore them before. But today..." She trails off, biting her lip.

"So you're not traumatized?" Lisa asks cautiously.

Sarah shakes her head. "Oh, I'm definitely shaken up. But I also feel... I don't know, liberated in a way? Like a part of me I've always kept hidden has finally been set free."

A slow smile spreads across my face as an idea forms. "You know," I say slowly, "Dr. Stokes gave me a jar of that special lotion to take home. Said it might come in handy some time.

Sarah's eyes widen at my words. "You... you have some of that lotion?" she asks hesitantly.

I nod, a mischievous glint in my eye. "A whole jar of it. Dr. Stokes said the effects last about 48 hours each time it's applied."

Lisa catches on to where I'm going with this. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" she asks with a sly grin.

"I think I am," I reply.
